Opening Reception for Daydream Ecology!
Through paint and ink, Daydream Ecology explores the fragile ecosystem of place, memory, and imagination. These works exist somewhere between what is directly in front of us and what we allow ourselves to imagine beyond it.
Unexpected color palettes and interruptions reshape landscapes of New York City, the Catskills, and the Smoky Mountains— the places most familiar to me. These visual disruptions reveal how we carry fragments of place with us, and how small sensory details can trigger sudden returns to places we haven’t been in years, like remembering a dream.
Alongside the exhibition, a mini print vending machine will be installed as a way to engage with the community, bridging the space between here and “there.” It will feature $1 hand-cut giclée prints designed to make art collecting more accessible, inviting visitors to bring home, share, or trade small works as part of a living relationship between memory, place, and everyday life.
